About
Our Legal and ESG consulting services are crucial for ensuring that companies operate legally, sustainably. Therefore, depending on the client and the project we team up with the best local specialists; law firms, geologists, lobbyists, engineers, and other local experts.
Mr. Baeza is a prominent Chilean lawyer with 25 years of experience. He holds a LL.M. from the University of Dundee, Scotland and negotiation courses in Harvard Law School. After several years of private practice, he started an in-house career in some major mining companies. He worked at Rio Tinto plc, England, was the Legal Manager of Minera Mantos de Oro, operated by Goldcorp. He served for 8 years as Senior Lawyer and Vice president General Counsel for Kinross Corporation Chile and another 8 years as the Vice President & General Counsel of Sierra Gorda SCM, the latest large copper and molybdenum project built in Chile. In this position he was in charge of all legal and social areas of the company: Legal, External Affairs, Mining Tenure, Compliance, Permits, Communities, Environment and Sustainability departments.
Mr. Baeza is now a Consultant, a Mediator of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, and the International Program Fellow of The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (Formerly Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation).
