About

Our Legal and ESG consulting services in the mining and natural resources sector are crucial for ensuring that companies operate legally, sustainably, and ethically. Mr. Baeza is a highly experienced Chilean lawyer with 25 years of experience. He holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from the University of Dundee, Scotland. After several years of private practice Mr. Baeza started an in-house career as a General Counsel for some major companies in Chile. He worked at Rio Tinto plc, in London, England, was the Legal Manager of Minera Mantos de Oro, operated by Goldcorp. He then served for 8 years as Senior Lawyer and Vice president General Counsel for Kinross Corporation Chile. Lastly, he worked for another 8 years as the Vice President & General Counsel of Sierra Gorda SCM, the latest large copper and molybdenum project built in Chile. In this position he was in charge of all legal and social related areas of the company. 

Mr. Baeza is now a consultant, providing support to foreign and domestic companies in the Natural Resources business and is the International Program Fellow of The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (Formerly Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation).
